Check with financial aid offices of prospective colleges/universities for scholarship opportunities.  Most schools have their own scholarship applications to connect you with funds available specifically to their students.  These awards may be based on need, academic achievement, or extra curricular activities.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available.  This application connects you with all federal grants and loans.  Filling early will give you a better chance at getting money.  The free application is available online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
